The Best Premium Earbuds for Your Phone

Sony, Apple, and Samsung all make excellent flagship earbuds, but they reward different priorities. Start with my picks below, then watch all nine of my recent earbud reviews, including more affordable and open-ear alternatives. Liberty 5 joins the shortlist for strong sound and ANC around $130, provided the fit works for your ears.

Best for iPhone01

Audio

Apple AirPods Pro 3

The smoothest setup and strongest Apple-device integration.

An easy recommendation if you use an iPhone and want one pair of earbuds for music, travel, workouts, and calls. If your AirPods Pro 2 still work well, there is no need to rush the upgrade.

Best for Galaxy02

Audio

Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro

Samsung's exclusive audio and convenience features add real value.

Galaxy owners get a polished flagship package with excellent sound and useful customization. On iPhone, the missing app and Galaxy-only features make AirPods Pro 3 or Sony's XM6 much easier to recommend.

Best cross-platform03

Audio

Sony WF-1000XM6

Deep controls and broad compatibility without committing to one phone brand.

The XM6 are one of the most complete premium earbuds I have tested: excellent sound, top-tier ANC, a better fit than the XM5, and more cross-platform flexibility than Apple or Samsung. The price is the biggest obstacle.

Lower-cost alternative04

Audio

Soundcore Liberty 5

Strong sound, impressive ANC, and useful EQ around $130 at review time; check the fit during movement.

If they stay secure in your ears, the Liberty 5 are easy to recommend. I would consider them alongside the Nothing Ear (3a): sound quality and ANC are the highlights, while the fit needs a careful check before you commit.
